Each room is built to accommodate the weight of the machine and have special shielding on the walls, ceiling and floor. This shielding protects the MRI scanner from radio frequency noise which can distort images needed for diagnosis and also protects other external machines from disruption to help ensure the most accurate diagnosis for patients.
