LEVEL 01

Level 01

Level 1 is the main corridor for patients and visitors to travel across the hospital. Features include the Magna Emergency Department, medical imaging, Vic De Zen Family Welcome Centre, a dedicated entrance and Tony Romanelli and Matthew Fusco Families elevator for mothers in labour, the learning centre and a variety of public spaces including dining, retail and a branch of the Vaughan Public Library.

LEVEL 02

Level 02

Level 2 of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital includes state-of-the-art operating suites in the De Gasperis Muzzo Tower and the Adult Critical Care unit in the David Braley Tower, for many of the hospital’s sickest patients.

LEVEL 03

Level 03

Level 3 of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is home to the hospital’s state-of-the-art pharmacy and laboratory. These essential clinical services assist in rapid diagnosis of many illnesses and conditions as well as provide the medicine needed to treat patients of all ages across the facility.

Level 04

The birth of a new baby can be an exciting, emotional and life-changing time for families. On Level 4, our Woman and Child Program provides services for families welcoming a new baby and children up to 17 years of age who require hospitalization for an illness or injury.

LEVEL 05

Level 05

This level of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is home to the Inpatient Mental Health unit, the Carlo and Angela Baldassarra and Family Inpatient Dialysis Unit and the Sorbara Integrated Stroke Unit. These specialized services enhance care for patients across York Region.

LEVEL 06

Level 06

This specialized cardiac care unit for patients needing care following a cardiac episode is located in the west tower on level 6 of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. In the east tower, a medical/surgical care unit provides care for adults following surgery or for an acute medical condition.

LEVEL 07

Level 07

This level is home to two 36-bed inpatient medical/surgical units for adult patients following a recent surgery or to treat an acute medical condition. In this dedicated environment, patients receive care and support to prepare for the next stage in their health care journey, be it returning home or transitioning to another care setting.

LEVEL 08

Level 08

On this level of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, patients and families have access to a specialized orthopaedic surgery unit located in the west tower. The east tower is home to one of the hospital’s four 36-bed medical/surgical patient care units which provides in-hospital care for adults following various surgeries or to treat an acute medical condition.

 

TOWER 1

De Gasperis Muzzo Tower

The west tower of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital bears the name of two prominent families who have a long history of philanthropy, separately and together, including many contributions to Mackenzie Health. The De Gasperis Muzzo Tower houses our mental health services, obstetrics and acute-care patient rooms, among a host of other high-quality services.

TOWER 2

David Braley Tower

The east tower of Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, named after philanthropist David Braley, houses the Sorbara Integrated Stroke Unit, Inpatient Pediatrics Unit and Acute Care Patient Rooms.

GREEN ROOF

Green Roofs

In addition to environmental sustainability, energy conservation and day-lighting, extensive green roofs are visible points. The green roofs fully utilizes the space with a planting palette of low-drought tolerant ornamental grasses in a strong graphic design. Patients and visitors can observe and look down upon the green roofs from the patient care towers.
